06/05/2016 Research : Baroque style and Rococo style

Today, I decided to get a sense of baroque style. To start with, I see the explanation in wikipedia. It shows baroque is a art style started in Rome, Italy, and spread to other place in europe. When researching Baroque style, I also find Rococo is similar as the patterns are complex. Then, I searched “compare and contrast baroque and rococo style”.

In short, Baroque first and Rococo next by time. Baroque started in Italy and the other started in France. Rococo style is bright and depicts the life of nobel. Baroque is about darkness and violence.

I found some movies related to these two themes on internet and I decide to watch one of them on weekend.

To further understand the two styles, I read an article by Andrea Zuvich called The Difference Between Baroque & Rococo in 2013 .(http://www.andreazuvich.com/art/the-difference-between-baroque-rococo-art/)

From the article, the main difference could be sum up into the content below:

From about 1595-1750

Nude people are more plump than rococo

Depict darkness, violence

Light-hearted, pastoral, a rosy-tinted view of the world

The thing I learn today is getting basic information about the two styles, which might help the appearance and material choose in my development period. On weekends, I plan to watch Marie Antoinette (2006) for Rococo style and Shakespeare In Love (1998) for Baroque style.

However, I have a feeling of that this research is a little off the topic of procrastination.

Add the tasks I did today on timetable to be organized and well-planned.
